Notice of Board Intent

To Consider an Amendment to a Winery Liquor Licence

The Board of the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) at its regular meeting to be held May 22, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Board Chambers of the RDN administration offices, located at 6300 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo, BC intends to consider a proposed amendment to a winery licence for Morningstar Springs Farm Ltd. located at 395 and 403 Lowry's Road in Electoral Area 'G', legally described as Lot 2, District Lots 19, and 83, Nanoose District Plan EPP16024 (see map below for location). At this meeting the Board will consider passing a resolution to provide the Board's recommendations to the BC Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) with regard to the proposed amendment to the winery licence for the Mooberry Winery located at Morningstar Springs Farm. The applicant has applied to the LCLB for a permanent amendment to the winery licence in order to permit a lounge endorsement in order to permit the sale of liquor by the glass during the hours of 9:00 am until 6:00 pm.

At this meeting the Board will consider passing a resolution to provide the Board's recommendations to the BC Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) with regard to the proposed amendment to the existing winery licence for Mooberry Winery located at Morningstar Springs Farm. The applicant has applied to the LCLB for a permanent amendment to the Mooberry Winery licence in order to permit the sale of liquor "by the glass" as part of their lounge endorsement. During the hours of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

All persons who consider their interest to be affected by the proposed amendment to the liquor licence shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard in person, by a representative, or by written submission. Written submissions must be received at the RDN office by 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 22, 2018 to ensure inclusion in the public record.
